    Chilcotin in Peru

A few months ago, I decided to fly to Peru and meet my cousins on a mountain biking trip through Cusco. I was in desperate need of an All Mountain bike, so I decided to get a Chilcotin. Got mine via Fedex a few days before my trip (thanks to Brian at wrench science). Built it with a 180mm Fox Van fork and heavy downhill tires and I was ready to go. After feeling the effects of altitude sickness (I live in Florida) and the ocassional hail storm, we descended from 4,000 meters over sea level. Even though the bike took a beating, I always felt in control. It was really amazing how well the bike handled everything (even the few times I had to pedal uphill considering the long travel fork). I am extremely satisfied and happy I joined the Knolly family and having the opportunity to test this amazing bike in the country I was born.

    Chilcotin in Peru

We took an hour flight from Lima to Cusco. We stayed in the Urubamba valley and rode Maras, Megavalanche, Poque, Andahuaylillas and El Chirmoyo. I didn't have a chance to ride in Lima, but I hear that they are lots of really cool trails near the capital.
