2013 Podium Shock Choices

Hey everyone,

I'm thinking about picking up a new Podium frame but I'm unsure of what shock to get with it of the 3 choices: RC4, DB Coil, or a DB Air.

I have a Vivid Air on my 2011 Podium right now and I like that, any reccomendations/suggestions?

For absolute ride quality and plushness you can't beat the CCDB. That said - many are going CCDBA these days and I hear that the performance is extremely close to a coil shock, if you can even tell the difference at all. If you are used to the feel of an air setup and like it, you may want to go that way just for the ease of tuneability and weight savings.

i'd order the frame without shock and pick up a vanilla rc or the frame with the rc4 and send it to avalanche for their upgrade. i'd ask craig at avalanche first what is better for his upgrade on the podium, the vanilla rc or the rc4. i know for the chili he recommends the vanilla because of its smaller shaft size

Thanks for the replies guys. Avy is an option, especially since they are here locally in CT.

For me, the DB air seems to be the best choice I'm just a bit hesitant as my friend has one and he still can't seem to find that one setting that feels really good.

I might just go with it anyways and if I don't like it (which I doubt will happen) I'll throw the trusty vivid air back on.

has anybody tried the elka on the podium?
