I just put on the Vee Rubber Snow shoes. They are 4.8". Plenty of room. Dropped a little weight with these too. Want to get under 30 lbs. How much weight can I save with DH tubes?

Snowshoe 4.7 fits good on the back and easily fits surly bud 4.8 upfront! Go ride....

How's the ride? Apart from tires anything you would think of changing?

It is a nice geometry for a fatty. Not too front or rear heavy, feels really balanced. Have done a lot of climbing in the muck and doesn't feel heavy or similar. Downhill thru obstacles is confidence inspiring too. Doesn't seem to slip and slide over snow either. I immediately changed to Oury grips and put on some VP pedals. Still kind of fine tuning here and there but I think this bike is great out of the box, though changing the tires from Vee Missions to your preference is a must.
I own a mach 6 and an Enduro 29er and the feel of this bike is nice even after changing rides during the day.
I have too many bikes, but it's not enough

anyone have front brake rub? mine rubs the side even when free wheeling. If I can't figure it out I will drop it off at an LBS soon.

Be aware that the snowshoe 4.7 is much smaller than it claims. Closer to a true 4.0. This means that a Lou may not fit on back, be sure to check clearance first. The snowshoe is a nice tire just not as big as claimed.

I just bought a 2014 4 Season 3000 for $999 on clearance. Can't wait for snow to fly. Looked at the Framed Minnesota 2.0 (On Sale Framed Minnesota 2.0 Fat Bike 2014), but this bike was only $100 more and has better brakes and a 10 speed drive train.

Not finding many reviews or comments good or bad for the 2014 KHS 4 Season 3000
Anyone own one or test ride one that wants to weigh in?
From what I have read the VEE Mission tires are crap and should be changed.
    Any comparisons to other bikes?

I bought one last spring. I haven't ridden it very much yet, but what time I have spent on it, I have enjoyed quite immensely. I am not a super-strong rider, so I found it somewhat sluggish on uphills, but I honestly think that's just my lack of strength. The bike feels very stable going downhill and climbs well when I can keep the pedals going uphill. I hated the Vee Mission tires and switched them out with Origin8 Devist8rs which handle MUCH better! I am currently recovering from a ruptured Achilles tendon, but I cannot wait to be healed enough to get back out there and ride it in some more snow!

Thanks! The owner of a LBS is riding the carbon version and recommends it. Not convinced its top quality though. Anyone know much about it?

Can't compare to other bikes, but I've been out on 4 Season 3000 a couple times in the snow in the last 2 weeks. The Vee Mission tires are terrible in the snow! I am working on getting better snow tires, but will keep the Missions for dirt riding in the summer. Over-all the bike is really nice. It shifts well, brakes well and generally handles pretty well aside from being a little squirrely in soft snow. For the price it is pretty tough to beat.

Bumping this as I am about to buy a used 2014 3000.

I have also been following the "Boris" thread as they are the same bike.

Any other opinions on this bike?

    Thanks in advance.

hi. I still ride my 3000, and still love it. I know it's the same as Boris but I don't care either way. I just rode it in the snow the other day and still really like the geometry on the bike. I put on some nice pedals, a thudbuster seat post, Dillinger 4's just a few weeks ago for better traction when I run into some unexpected ice slop...and other than that mostly kept it stock except changing a bit of it out to have red highlights like the grips, etc. to give it some more personality. I have no complaints about the bike, especially the price. and I paid $1750 for it which is more than others did, but I also purchased the first one that came into town instead of waiting for a markdown. I just think it's so much fun and I have several other bikes. It's well balanced and it climbs like a billy goat. Sure I see others riding high end bikes but I'm really happy with this bike. I'd say go for it.

picked up my bike, came with upgraded tires (Larry and Endo) but didn't have much grip on my maiden snow ride last week.

How heavy are the stock tubes?

debating Nate's front and rear or Nate rear, Bud front.

Has anyone been successful going tubeless on the stock rims? if so, which method?

    Thanks
