Thinking about '13 KHS XC104...any thoughts on this rig?

So I'm thinking about adding an entry level FS to my arsenal (I currently have a '09 Jamis Durango HT) and I'd like to know if anyone has any thoughts or opinions on the '13 XC104. I ride mostly singletrack with some mild technical stuff. I realize I'd have to upgrade the rear shock sooner or later and over time and decrease the weight a bit but because I've never owned a KHS and there's close to nothing on the WWW about the newest XC104, I'd like to hear what you guys have to say. Also, anyone know the rear shock size of the XC104? Thanks in advance!

I see no one has responded to this question. But I too am considering this bike, and hope someone can offer up their opinion.

simply put, the 104 is worth upgrading. had an '06 104 and replaced everything on it, brakes especially as they were utter crap, being winzip. fork/shock were totally unimpressive as well, being spinner/mozo. depending on if/what you intend to upgrade, it'll cost

Thanks for the reply. Is there something better around the $1000 price range? I don't mind having to do some upgrades in the future, but, I don't want a bike that is on the line of replacing a complete bike, rather than doing a few upgrades. My idea bike would be a Santa Cruz V10. Realistically though, it is far out of my price range, and riding capabilities. I haven't ridden in a long time, and im just trying to get back into it. I don't need a DH bike, but I would like something capable. Any help would be appreciated.

the 104 would be jut fine for getting back into things. you would DEFinitely need to replace the brakes tho cuz the really are crap. hell, rim brakes wet from rain stop better.
