    New shock for a 204?

Any of you fellas change the rear shock on your X04? What'd you change to? Worth the $$ to upgrade? Use all the features on the new shock? Any gotchas (fit, hardware, etc . . .)? I'm window shopping right now but, that might change if I hear fantastic things from you all.

I'm currently running the standard Rock Shox Bar 2.1 which feels OK, but not superb. The damping struggles with highly variable terrain, speeds, etc . . . Kind of feels like I'm compromising a lot of the time so that I can really enjoy specific parts of a trail. Still loads better than the ol' hardtail though.

Running a RP23 on my 604. It came stock with a Rockshox Ario 2.1, which didn't ride bad, but it's nothing like the RP23. That shock changed the whole bike! (for the better of course!) I use the three different propedal settings alot when riding flat, fast hardpack or pavement and have it wide open for the rough stuff. The RP23 takes different mounting hardware than the Rockshox; info here: Fox Rear Shock Spacer Parts # Inside

I'm running a Monarch 4.2 on mine. Got it off eBay for $75. I did have to buy new mounting hardware, since the Bar is 10mm and the Monarch is 1/2". But the shock has been an awesome upgrade!
