2008 KHS Tucson rear tire clearance

I also posted this in the 29er forum but just curious for replies.

I am looking to run the widest tires I can for snow riding this winter. I currently have whats left of the stock 1.9" Kenda Karmas back there and was thinking some fat knobbies would be great.

Any one out there get something 2.2 or so back there? Suggestions?

    1.9 Karma

I have a 2008 Tucson, and haven't felt the need to run anything larger than the 1.9 karma. I ran the 1.9 Kenda Klaw back there in deep mud a couple of years ago, but it was a very slow tire. Ran my karma on the back at about 16psi in the snow the weekend before last, and it was great! Hope that helps some...

I ended up fitting a 2.1 (forget brand but a cheapy) with room to spare in the back and a 2.3 exiwolf up front. That combination has worked beautifully in the snow so far this season! Both front and back have room for bigger tires though...

To update my old thread...I put 2.1 serfas on the back (stock Sun rim) and this spring/summer have 2.2 nevagals on the front and rear (WTB rims). The nevagals seems huge but fit without rub in any riding position.
