Thread for mounting bottle cage hinders seatpost

Well, my 05 Komodo has a thread across the seat tube for mounting a bottle cage. I can't lower the saddle further, that thread hinders the seat post. I removed the screw to get around but there is still a thread.

Any way to remove that thread? Should i cut the seatpost? I still have about 4 cm free of post when I have the saddle all the way up, I'm not tall. Anyway I'd prefer to remove the thread.

Some pics. Fisrt one show the thread with screw, it's just below the red sticker. Second pic shows the limit of the saddle with a 350mm post.

You gonna need to cut the seatpost. Before you do, measure from the end to the "insert limit line", transcribe this measurement up from your cut line and make sure BEFORE you cut that you're going to have enough seatpost in the frame at the full height you need.
