It comes stock with the Joplin dropper post (which the bike came with in 2011). Lever is pretty cool and works pushing it in any direction. I've seen people retro fit this lever to other dropper posts as it's simple and works.

Also added this very nice Salsa seat clamp in red. I tried a blingy Crank Bros. QR clamp and it wouldn't hold no matter how tight I made it. The salsa is excellent.

Just finished rebuild my wifes Parker. Powder coated the frame blue. Gave her my Vanilla RC( may need a tune though) and upgraded a few other parts. Still needs a longer fork but 130mm will do for now.

Well....I'm gonna be selling my 2011 Dakar 650B2 if you're interested. Would prefer to sell the complete bike vs frame but would consider offers. I'm looking for something with a bit more travel and slacker HA than this bike has. Maybe 250 miles and it has a brand new RS Monarch shock that was just replaced under warranty by RS since the other one wasn't getting full travel and then puked oil all over itself. They also upgraded it from an RT to and RT3. Bike is mint and has plenty of clear protective tape in many areas.

Good job! My Dragon Pro (and first post!)

Finally back into the sport after a 15 or so year hiatus... decided to find a nice steel hardtail and build it the way I wanted...

    Show us your Jamis!-8462417957_74e0cb31fe_c.jpg

It is a mix of old and new, bought, bartered and begged parts, but it rides great! Here are some details:

Frame: 2009 Dragon Pro Reynolds 853 steel
    Fork: Manitou R7 (100mm)
    Headset: DaBomb XC
    Stem: Ritchey 100mm
    Spacers: Token
    Bars: Easton carbon
    Seat post: DaBomb XC
    Seatpost clamp: Chromag
Saddle: WTB BelAir (yes, that's snow camo)
Brakes: Hayes 9's slightly modded to work with center lock discs
    Bar ends: NC17 lockons
    Shifters: Deore 2 way
    Wheels: Shimano LX Deore
    Tires: Intense C2 Cross Country
    Crankset: Shimano Deore Hollowtech
    Cassette: Sram (970?)
    Chain Sram PC991
    Rear D: LX
    Front D: LX
Pedals: Crappy old Wellgo flats for winter, but a new set of Shimano clipless come spring

Its going to be my cross-country/winter bike (yes I need ice spikers!) and I'm starting a Dakar XAM build for the bigger obstacle trails. I'll post it up when its finished - its currently a frame.

Cheers to all the great Jamis' in this thread so far! See you on the trails!

My Jamis Dakar XCT 2011 frame cracked in August 2012. The dealer told me i would get a 2013 replacement in February. Now I am getting the runaround and very frustrated. Has anyone had contact with someone at their warrantee/support dept?

cracked below the seatpost. It is a Dakar XCT Large. The only reason I didnt have a problem was they told me they would replace with an XL frame. but its been so long I am annoyed.

That sucks. It looks like you had your seat post out too far and it stressed seat tube to the point of cracking. Did you ride with the seat post almost all the way out?

Either way, I hope you get a new frame soon. Jamis is normally good with warranty claims. If they had a front triangle to give you, you probably would have it by now.

Regardless of how it happened or whatever they said it will be replaced. If 6 months ago they said tough luck I wouldve prob just bought a bike from a different brand. The fact that I have been waiting this whole time and now getting the run around is what annoys me. Good luck to anyone who has to deal with Jamis, you have to go thru a dealer who could care less because he is not makeing anything off this.

    KBer,

Sorry to hear about the issues you are having. I run the Tech Department for Jamis Bicycles. PM me you contact info and include the name of the shop that is handling your warranty claim

Thanks Tim, I picked up the frame on Friday. It seems they might've had it when I called but had some confusion at their shop.

It looks great cant wait to get up and running with it. You guys are AWESOME! Very satisfied customer.

Whew, glad to hear things got taken care of KBer. I haven't had to deal with warranty stuff through the shop I bought my Jamis through, but I can tell by the way the guy runs his shop, it would be no problem. If the Jamis guys read this, Mike from Pulaski Bikes in VA is great. Always good to answers questions through email as well.

It's going to be specifically designed for women, so if you have a woman's body then it should work out alright. :P

    Show us your Jamis!

Here's a blast from the past, it's a Eureka from about 2000. I built it up in 2002 with a hodge podge of parts. It has XT front and rear derailleurs, XTR BB, Chris King headset, Salsa Stem, Time ATAC carbon pedals, and LX V brakes and levers. I also used some parts from a mid 90s build including Campy Stentho wheels with Deore hubs, bars, and Grip Shift shifters. I had a low end Marzocchi Bomber (Z4?) that I replaced in '07 with a Rock Shox Tora 318.

I recently added a stem extender and a fat boy wide gel seat, because I got sick and gained 100 lbs since building it. While I was at it I also threw on some Conti Town & Country tires since I was only riding on the road. I started running 3 weeks ago, and riding again last week. It still works for me, so I can't see replacing it anytime soon. My goal this summer, between running and riding, is to lose 50lbs. If I can do that I might think about buying a FS bike and ride some actual trails.
