Is the RST Launch T9 on the Komodo 1 really trash?

Some people say that the Launch SUCKS. Some say its OK. Some say its great.
Since I'm a entry-level rider, does anyone have any comments on it?

I know MOST RST suck, but I was hoping -

Oh yeah, and anyone heard of the RST Saturn?

I'm not content with that answer. It has 130mm, which is not two inches. 13 cm = 5 inches of travel.

Or did you mean that of the 5, only two are there?

It looks like Rock Shox doesn't have the Pike on their line anymore, do they have a new fork similar to it?

I'm not sure about a new fork. I might ask chelboed or wolfman.

The Argyle looks about the same as the pike, setup-wise. Maybe fox has something like it

The only comparable two I can see would be the revelation and the sector. I would go for the revelation, uturn 20mm. Its 120-150, so you can dial it up or down for what your riding. 120 feels good on a komodo though.

Cant go wrong with the pike though if you find one. Its a wicked fork. I have a domain which is essentially its fat overweight cousin.

    I be luvvin my PIKE!

The Sektor or Lyrik would be great on the Komodo. Argyle is nice if you're going urban, but for trails...I like it a tad more slack. I have ridden my Komodo with a 95mm fork and it just doesn't feel as nice. I'd say 130-160 is just right.

I just bought a Marz 55 TST2 from jensonusa for $269 for my Five-O build.

That would be a great fork for the Komodo. Check into it.

You'll find a PIKE or two on ebay still as well.

What would you guys think of a 32 Float on a Komodo? I figure it'd be pretty great butI've never rode a Fox fork

I'm thinkin about pulling the trigger on the 55 TST2's they have at jenson, but I've heard Marz has had questionable quality since 08?

You probably heard that from me too...yet I bought a 55 TST2 from Jenson.

Long story short...the "R" cartridge in the 55R is made by SR Suntour. POS. Basically just a hatchback damper. I went through two of them before I upgraded to a TST2 cartridge which is much more robust. I never had any issues with the TST cartridge, but I sold the fork b/c I found a Domain for cheap.

Now that I'm building the Kona...I bought another TST2 for it. I'm confident that it will perform well. I'll keep the PIKE on my Komodo and put the 55 on my Five-0.

I'd do it if I were you...that's some cheap freakin' fork, man!

Bushing slop and creaky crowns were big issues. A lot of them were duds.

I've posted these an aweful lot...so I'm sorry if I annoy anyone...but for reference to Lunchbox and running different forks on the Komodo...here's what mine's had on it. Mine's a 2005, but the only "big" difference between that and the '08 is the top tube, head tube design, and seat tube diameter:

The PIKE is my fav for "all around" XC - AM...but the Domain was alot of fun. The 55 was fun when it worked.
The Excavators have been my fav. tires.
The Gravity Dropper was really cool, but I don't use it around here much. If I had an area with more extended descents...I'd use it alot.

What size and how is the clearance? My 2.35" Excavator was a little tight on the 2005 Komodo. I switched to a 2.35" Nevegal for the rear. It seems to clear a bit better.

2.35, downhill casing, stick-e. It's got a pretty decent amount of clearance, but jesus christ is it heavy!
