    Question for Dakar XCT riders...

What wheelsets are you using? I just bent up my stock rims on my 09 I just got a few weeks ago and need to get a set that can take some serious abuse. Just curious what other XLTS are running and feel free to post pics and style of riding.
    Thanks!

Wasn't the last year of the XLT in 2007? I ride a 2006, and still have the original WTB Speed discs. They have held up decently, but I would like to upgrade mostly to cut weight. I would describe my riding as aggressive trail, with 2-3 foot drops.

I bought some OE wheels from Jenson, a 20mm front hub, Deore M525 rear on WTB ll mountain rims. They have held up great and I'm 240 + or - 10lbs, ride pretty hard. They are not too heavy.

I too bent the original wheels on mine and I only weigh 150 lbs. I bought a set of Mavic Crossrides for less than $200 on ebay and they have been holding up fine despite being lighter than the old wheels.

I also bent my front wheel beyond repair in under 100 miles on my 09 XCT 1.0. It seems like the stock Alexs are pretty crap. I replaced it with a Sun RynoLite and have have nothing but good things to say about it. The whole front end feels noticeably stiffer, and it is still spinning true after some fairly heavy crashes. FWIW, I'm 200 lbs., and would also describe my riding style as "aggressive trail" with an emphasis on the downs.
