The New Jamis Dragon Team frameset

I think this is going to be my new geared bike of choice. After a brief stint w/ full suspension I think I'm over it. I want the simplicity of a hardtail for financial and maintenance issues, plus I've never even ridden a steel bike before.

I have a lovely 26" parts kit with a 100mm fork. It's either this or possibly a salsa?

Can't say I'm crazy about a red bike w/ flames but I guess I'll just have to get faster huh?

    My one says BRAP!

i think you will fall in love with steel, especially with the 853 reynolds tubing. i bought a kelly steel hardtail just before he closed shop steel just has that nice spring feel to it compared to my carbon HT, and an alum HT. except for some particular raskidus trails here in the sierra (where i choose my heckler FS), i am finding it fun railing the steel kelly - often occasionally succeeding with friends on full AM setups- sometimes surpassing. what is the cost of just the jamis frameset? i suspect it is coming out of one factory that is doing steel frames at the moment, except the salsa. good direction all in all. nice to see jamis doing steel HTs.

MSRP on Dragon Frame is $750. But, you can find year end close outs in the high
    $3xx range.

I have an '05 Jamis Dragon Frame.

My guess is Jamis has been doing the steel frames for ~ 20 years.

03 dragon ss fully rigid. love it - and it's a great counterpoint to the switchblade.

I think the bike looks very nice. I like the red and white a lot. it reminds me of this:

When under pressure, your level of performance will sink to your level of preparation.
