    New here.. Jamis question..

Hello all, I'm just getting into bike riding... My question is my aunt has a Jamis Diablo 21 speed it has been sitting for about 3 yrs.. I know it needs new tubes and possibly tires.. I think I can pick it up from her for about $50.00.. I talked to local bike shop they will go over it and install the tubes (not counting the price of new tubes) for $49.00 This bike will be for my 11yr old daughter as she is due for a new bike... If this bike is worth puttingthe money into I was going to buy it for her instead of a new bike from the local wal-mart... She has already sat on it and its seems to fit her well... We ride mainly paved trails and some flat trails for the most part down here in Florida.. thanks in advance for the input.. Mike

In my opinion an older Jamis or any quality bike is going to be better than any WalMart bike. But you are right it is going to need a tune up and a once over. Seems like a decent deal to me.
