D'you mean that'd be good? Yup! But what would be better IMHO is a fluorescent white that glows in the dark. Awesome!

    Yes, good haha.

So today I get to the bottom of the trail and I feel that my crank arm is a little loose, lift my foot off the pedal, and the arm falls off! I guess the bolt holding it on came loose, trail was super rocky and probly shook it out. Oh well. But now I need a new bolt, can't ride till then :/

I live in flat, swampy FL. We don't even have lift-assisted riding ANYWHERE. I would give a kidney to have a lift-access mountain 2 hours away. I'd love one 4 hours away. Hell, I'd be thankful to have one 6 hours away. Quit complaining.

You can't just put the old one back in?

Haha I wish. By the time I realized the arm was loose, I was at the bottom of a mile or so of trail, it was getting dark, and the trail is covered in small rocks, making it kinda hard to find a tiny little bolt.

I think the best you can get around here is probably bike to the top, and ride back down. LoL, dbWill, stop being so pessimistic, wouldya? Its dampening the mood of the thread. Ride up, and your legs would be like tree trunks.
    !
    No offense, just in jest.

I wouldn't mind "riding up" but there is no "up", and conversely there isn't really any "down" either.

That sucks. Atleast here I have mountains, just not really any trails. Just means I'll have to start building haha

Anyone have a komodo set up for dual slalom or 4x? I am curious to see your build.

Ross - those MTX wheels are pretty sweet, but they're also the same wheel I run on my downhill bike. Might be too heavy for front and back on a Komodo. I'd recommend putting that money to a new fork before upgrading the wheels.

i thought about a new fork, but all i've ever been referred to is the PIKE, and honestly at the time, i cant afford one. Is there anything out there worth putting money into aside from the pike??

Ross - are you still running the mechanical disc brakes? I'd recommend upgrading those and think some Juicy 3's or 5's should be available cheap. Chainguide like a blackspire stinger would also be sweet. I think you said you were on the tall side for that medium bike - I'm 5'9 and found the bars to be too narrow so I upgraded that... Looks like you're running the stock pedals too. Bars and pedals were my first upgrades as the spots where you contact the bike are pretty important to your control and technique.
