Jamis XAM 2
I have bought a Jamis Dakar XAM 2 07 model frame. I have to buy the shock and I believe I have to get the eye to eye length right and travel spot on. Any ideas as to what it would be?
Can you tell me what DHX Air 5.0 I should get?
Would a RP23 shock be suitable for trail riding?

Ouch ... the shock is expensive ... .typically the shocks come w/ the frame.
The RP23 is great for trail riding ...

The frame was an ebay purchase and was very inexpensive. I can justify the shock purchase. Just want the right one. I think it is 7.85" x 2.25". I just want to be sure.

I'm pretty sure it's the 7.85 x 2.25 (200 x 57).
The RP23 is available in that size. It will be lighter and to be honest after owning a DHX5 you really don't need all those adjustments if you are only trail riding. If I still had my XAM, I would have a RP23 on it.

Good advice. I think you are absolutely right.
Thanks
