Wow! You've been busy! That top shelf AMT impresses me the most for sure! As burly and aggressive as it is...it's really light. I'm stoked for you guys.

    Weblee,
The 2014 bikes are up now on the site.

I was pretty disappointed with the specs of the 2012 and 2013 bikes. Low end suspension on the mid level and top of the line bikes.

Those thoughts are gone with the 2014 models. Very impressed with the specs all around. Props to Jamis for stepping it up!

Yeah, wow, that new AMT looks sweet. I love my 2010 Dakar XAM, but according to the specs the AMT is NINE POUNDS lighter than my XAM! For a bike filling a similar niche, that would be pretty amazing to rip around.

But no dropper post on a $4900 6" AM bike?

The MTB product manager at JAMIS posted this on the 650 Forum about the decision to leave a dropper off the spec on the AMT:

I know about the dropper as well. Personally I never ride without one myself. At the cost and selection of most dropper posts right now ($300-400), I've felt it has been better to leave it off and allow the consumer to go out at get the one they really prefer. There are guides along the top tube for you when you get one :-)

    Hi Sal

I have been riding my 2012 Darkar Pro frame for a little over and year now and it is the best bike I have ever ridden. I was really looking to upgrade the frame to Carbon fiber this year but don't see where you will be offerering the frame only option like you did in 2012. Any chance you will be offering a Frame set ?

    John,

If you unable to get one local I would be more then happy to get one for you at my local shop or you could look at the shop in Bentonville, AR as they carry Jamis.

Just talked with my local shop it looks like the frame weight for the XCT650 is 4.68lbs. That being said if I swap out the Frame & Fork and use all of my currents parts my bike would be 23lbs with Xpedo Flat Pedals. If I swap out the cranks for the new Race Face Next SL spiderless ring Carbon cranks it would be sub 23.

As much as I wanted a 100mm bike I love this bike to much to build another so it looks like I am sticking with Jamis.

Interested in the Dragon 650b frame only option. Any idea when it will be available and the cost? Guessing it will be hard to find.

I ordered a frame/fork in late 2012 and it only took a couple day's to get from Journey Bike.

Once they are made available I will be ordering the CF version.

MSRP is $900.00 and should be available in the middle of November.

Wow, just saw the site for the AMT 650 comp, buying a new bike next year in this price range. I really need to demo one.

I've spent some time tuning the fork and rear shock on my 2012 Dakar 650b and it has truly made a difference. Every ride I love this bike more and more.
