    19" jamis sizing question

Looking to get (for a gift) 19" dakar sport '05 from jenson. It'll be for a person 5'10, will this be too big? He currently rides a 18" trek HT. thanks

Borderline there. I'm six foot even and my 19" fits perfect. I have a 32" inseam if that helps.

It's doable, but I think that's a tough call being stuck between sizes.

    Good luck.

I'm just BARELY 6' tall and I ride a 19"....5'10" is borderline for sure....I wouldn't order a bike unless I was sure it would fit....at that height he should try a 19" in person first....IMO of course.

Caution; Merge; Workers Ahead! Check top tube length

More important than size (seattube measurement BTW) is the effective toptube length! Check what the Trek has and compare it to the Jamis frame. Make your choice base on that measurement.

I"m 5ft 10in and I ride a 17in XAM, good for what I use it for, mainly trail riding. If I was going to get a bike for XC racing I would definatly get a 19in. BUt I would do what has been mentioned above and check which frame size is closest to the Trek.
