What year 7 Point is this?

Just bought this bike and the old owner said it was a 2008 7 Point 7. After reading up on it I'm not sure if it is an 08. It might be an 08, but I'm not 100% positive. Is there any way of telling what year it is?

later bikes (07 and 08 at least) came with Fox Van R or Fox DHX, while older ones (05/06) came with the 5th element shock... so that may give you a hint. I'm not sure why anyone woudl put that shock otherwise ?

Yeah thats what I was thinking. I paid $1000 for it. I was hoping it would be a 2007 or newer because the bushings need to be replaced, and I know I can get some for those years. If its a 2006 like I think it is, I think it will be a bit harder to find replacement bushings.

does the Boxxer has an angleset, or is it just a straight 1.5 to 1 1/8 reducer head cup ? internal or external (what I have on my 06 yakusa)

I wouldn't mind slacking the head angle some more on 7pt, but maybe the longer 203 mm boxxer does enough vs 7" front it was designed for. But the BB will get raised as well (can't seem to find BB heigh of Sunday/Yakuza/7Pt to compare)

No angleset on this bike, I think its just a straight 1.5 to a reducer head cup.

Definitely not an 08. 08's have a straight top tube and silver links. Your links are gray and red like 05/06.

07 had silver links with curved top tube.

So I ended up getting an 08 (straight top tube and graphic matches 2008 Iron Horse Line - Pinkbike.com) but read that the supposedly redesigned 08 model with slacker head tube, and longer top tub might have been a lie on IH part. Looking to make the 7pt my dedicated park/DH bike, so those would help...

I also did read that 07 models had a redesign frame with tripple butted tubes, saving 1.5lbs vs previous year. Wondering if that weight saving carried on 08 model since you mentioned 07 had curved top tube, unlike 08. That's a big weight saving...

07 and 08 weighted very close to each other. I went from an 06 to an 08 with the same kit, and there was a difference, but I found it not that noticeable of a loss.

The 08 has the same HA as any other 7point. Email Works Components to get a 2.5 degree angleset and you'll have a sweet park bike. Angleset is $138ish shipped from the UK.
