SGS DH Team - Paging Ska Todd

I just got me new bike yesterday and I知 very happy with my decision. This bike looks and feels great. I just have a few questions:

The first is a problem with the rebound adjuster knob from the 6-way hitting the oval shape spacer between the 2 linkage plates. And this is just from tricking around the streets. I saw someone at Mt. Creek last week where the knob had put a big dent in the same area. I知 concerned about ruining the shock. What (if any) is the fix for this?

Also, what is the starting pressure I should start with for the 6-way for a 180# rider?

The spring tension came stock all the way unscrewed. That seems a little odd. Where is a good starting point (in inches) for me at 180#.

And the last question is does it matter which way you put the rear axel in? I am a pretty experienced builder (of all my bikes) but all my other bikes were quick release.

    Nice! Welcome to the club!

REAL simple fix. Remove the lower shock bolt. Insert screw driver thru eyelet. Turn eyelet 180 degs. Re-attach shock. Fixed!

    80psi

No more than 2 turns of preload. The bike is sprung for a 180lb rider.

It's usually easier to get the axle out if you put the nut on the drive side, axle if from the non-drive. It can be a pain to get the axle past the RD sometimes.

im planning on buying the 04 SGS team or WC next week.
I read about some problems with the stock shock mounting.
can you post a pic or a drawing of how the shock should be mounted so I can be 100% sure that nothing will hit anything else?

    thanks...
