New question here. MkIII Hansventure model / durometer...

Are the Hansventure tires found on the MkIII the same Kevlar Bead, dual compound ST 42a Outer /50a Inner that were found on the '04 Hollowpoint???

They are Kevlar bead for sure, don't know about the compound specs. They do feel soft.

sorry I can't add anything other than what yogreg said but I'm very interested in what the compound is, myself.

Maybe the same person could answer this question: are the nipples used in the MKIII wheels DT brass, and are the spokes 14/15 competitions?

Can anyone from Iron Horse answer this about the tires?

no, they are different. the compound on the 05 is much softer than the 04, the 04 tire might even have been wire. I definitely remember that from my first few rides on the 05. they are nice tires, I still have the ones off the 05, but prefer to run a lighter tire. I do bring them out in d-ville though. Nate I thought that you left us, they don't make this tire in a 29 so why do you care?

This came up a year ago when I was parting them out on eBay. A bidder asked whether they were the same as the retail tire. Eventually I got the answer, but have long since forgotten it. Sorry!
