Iron Horse, Perdido. Perdido, Iron Horse...

Great, now that you guys have met, do you get along?

Todd or Dante, I spoke to a rep at Chris King, who tells me the Perdido headset is only being made available to OEMs, mainly to ensure that the frames they are destined for are in fact compatible.

The specs call for the head tube to be slightly oversized, out to 44.45mm, and to a depth of 11.4mm (as shown in this attachment):

Have you guys dealt with this already? Will the MkIII head tube take a Perdido headset?

nope. you might want to write them a nice email about how integral (pun intended) the zero-stack headset is to today's bikes, and how they're doing themselves and the industry a disservice by not supporting it. you might have better luck than the 29er dw-link...

Better yet, incompatability with an MkIII is a bad thing!

"Uh, hello, yeah, I've got this Perdido headset, see, and I'm looking for a frame for it!"
