IH 2009 - No DW-Link

People would've purchased the Mojo even if aluminum cuz there was this huge cult following for years. I mean, their leftover frame decals probably made more $$$ on ebay than some companies' entire lineup of bikes (big exaggeration).

Hindsight and armchair riding license in full force, I bet Ibis' return to the market would've been successful with an aluminum frame and with a Horst/FSR link. Then, of course, marketing would've screamed for a carbon frame, and then the only way to up the Horst is to go DW. Thankfully Ibis skipped all that and went for the homerun right away. An admitted Ibis freak (still have the Ibis dog collar Scot made for Ibis, my chocolate lab), I would've purchased a steel hardtail if it was the company's first product back.

I will probably snag an 08 Azure leftover, but I would not buy an 09 sans DW.

I have to agree... IH losing DW and Tod was a huge hit. I'll ride my 7point till the frame explodes into a million pieces (which could be by the end of the summer the way its going now) After that if I have the $$$ and DW puts out a FR bike I'll jump on his band wagon, if not I'll be looking for a gearbox bike. Im not a fan of single piv's along with the VPP. It will be interesting to see where all this goes...

The same goes for Ibis, even if they didnt have the DW linkage people would still flock to the Mojo because its Carbon Fiber! wahoo! :eekster:

I remember reading 'OVER N OUT' a while back.

Make good on that huh?

You are jacked up and have no IronHorse to be in this forum with.

Go back to your IBEX inner sanctum, and take your agenda back to your Rode Road Island too pusher.

IBEX Cronies; NO LIE>>>http://boston.fbi.gov/dojpressrel/pressrel07/bribery011807.htm

I talked to Kevin Tisue (Director of Intergalactic Engineering Studies and Rotational Experimentation) over at Pivot Cycles at Otter, one of the most down to earth guys I talked to all weekend.
I really love the way their frames flow, the attention to detail. Truly works of art. I can see myself riding a Pivot bike in the near future.

Really strange welding on the upper bracket where you mount the top of the shock, though.

I can't forsee hucking on a bike like that for fear up that upper weld.

Maybe DW can chime in here, or someone from Pivot. I'm no engineer, so I'd love to be proven wrong. I love the look of those Pivot cycles.

I don't doubt that.

He told me what he ate at Taco Bell one time, and I almost vomited when he was only half-way through the menu selection he made.

Guess I'm a light-weight these days... but I'm not 17 anymore, that's for sure. Haha...
If I keep going at the rate I was riding at today... My bike will be shot by the end of the summer.

I guess I musta thought it was saturday and didnt make it to school... Ended up running into a tree and then down into the creek today about the same speed as you when you made oh sweet love to the tree in UCSC.
Serves me right huh...

OT
Speaking of food... ahahah Yesterday...
2 Double doubles from IN n out, 3 fries, 2 soda's.
1/4 of a gallon of icecream
1/2 a pizza
1 Chipotle burrito + chips

That was within 4 hours.

Those Pivot bikes, I cant stop looking at them! I need to stop spending money and SAVE!

Keep in mind, the Pivot bikes are more XC oriented with a stiffer version of the DW-link. The MkIII with a heavy wheel set and a thru-axle would be better suited for your style of huckin', Grant.

As far as your eating habits, they simply make me sick. But I'm not gonna' lie, when I was your age (haha... I'm not THAT old, but that comment made me sound old, didn't it?) I could eat 2 big Macs, 2 Super-size fries and a couple of cokes no problem. I used to drink a 6-pack of Dr. Pepper everyday. All that caffeine messed me up for life dude. I can't have caffeine once, nowadays, without getting major withdrawal headaches the following day. Haha...

Try not to hug a tree like I did a few weekends ago, man. That hurt like the dickens.

That is all true, Kevin at Pivot explained to me that he's working on a AM/FR bike that will be shown at Interbike this year. I almost had to run back to the car and change my pants. Something about those frames.... I dont know... :yesnod:

My shoulder is still crying in pain from this morning. The bikes ok, thats all that matters.

IH totally has the right to build bikes and sell them through 3-31-09. I think I've made that pretty clear in the past. The 3/31 date was originally intended to give IH a little breathing room for selling through 2008 stock etc.., but it's all good with me either way. If they want to update spec and graphics and sell some '09 bikes, that's in their power for sure. IH is a class act and I have no doubt that they intend to do the best things that they can for their business.
