2008 7 Point Mounting kit for shock

    Hello New here,

Just bought a 7 Point frame without shock.

Will buy a Fox DHX 5 I need to buy a mounting kit for the shock to fit the bike.

Does any one know the measurement top and bottom?

Reason for asking is that the bike will be here in a week and if possible would like to save some time and also order the mounting kit now.

    Cheers for any help,

10 mm x 40 mm long for the top bolt

10 mm x 43 mm long for the bottom bolt

Internally threaded 6 mm x 1mm pitch, use a bolt for these w/ a 45 degree tapper on the head.

If you use that shock I am assuming it is 8.75 " x 2.5" stroke. It will give you 6.3" of rear travel. Use an 8.75 x 2.75" shock for the full 7" of travel. Also look on ebay, they have some real deals on totems or lyrik's w/ a 1.5" steer tube.

    Thanks so much for this.

    You clearly know your stuff!

I am planning on using the 2.75 shock.

Are there any negative points to the 2.5 or 2.75 choice?

    Cheers Mate

You could also go check "http://enduroforkseals.com/index.html"

They are suppose to be coming out with a needle bearing kit for the iron horse 10mm mounting system this week. This will be another option for mounting a shock on that frame. Otherwise you will need to score some 10mm x 30mm mounting hardware for the shock to fit it in the frame.

No, that's what he's talking about. There's a thread on here somewhere about the enduro needle bearing conversions for shock eye bushings. Chris from Enduro posted that they would have an Iron Horse kit very soon and it sounded like it would be a complete replacement for all the hardware that was missing from the Ebay frame I saw on Ebay and that I assume you wanted more than mk3rider.

BTW: Enduro is pretty awesome to deal with so don't hesitate to give them a try.

FYI that Totem is a piece of poop, Its the bare bones version no Mission Control, Motion Control only and no real adjusters.
