2003 Ironhorse MT 75..whats the word on this bike?

So, I have a friend who will be buying her first mountain bike, I ride a iron horse hollowpoint expert and am very happy with the quality of my bike. She found a 14.5" 2003 Iron horse MT 75 for $499 canadian, which is right around her budget, for the price, the specs look pretty decent. It comes with a Manitou Six sport 100mm fork, hayes HMX-1 mech discs, truvativ x-forged crankset, koski bar, stem and post. The only thing im worried about is the front derailleur and wheelset. The wheelset has a sticker that says Y2000 on it, and the front derailleur is a shimano O50 sis or something, im guessing they speced those parts to shave some cost. I have heard anything on this bike, so im just curious. The frame looks well built, and my friend, who is 5'1, likes the 14.5"
Any info on this bike would be appreciated.
    Thanks

The MT-75 was available exclusively through Sport Chek in Canada & Galyans in the US. It is a mid level XC/Trail hardtail at a screaming price! The rims are generic doublewall rims. CO-50 is Shimano's entry level FD for 34.9mm seat tubes.

Hey, thanks, the rims say they';re made by "Alex"..but im sure they'll be ok for her, she wont be hard on it. The fork seems to rebound very quickly though, feels like a pogo stick.
