I was going to post that I thought the color scheme and graphics looked horrible....but I just realized I already said that.
So let it be known, the paintjob on that bike is so bad I've done a real doubletake and felt so aesthetically violated that I must have created a second personality to deal with the first traumatic viewing earlier today. That's pretty bad.
Kidding aside... I don't think the paint is what I would expect on a $5000 bike. The font is awkward, like something those lumberjacks at Norco would create from the generic typefaces that come with Windows XP. It just doesn't strike me as progressive in the least, especially while other companies are veering off in a more grunge/punk/experimental type of snowboard graphics direction.
I'm not a big fan of the new Specialized paintjobs on the Demo, but I give them credit for trying something edgey even if it fails miserably (which it won't I suspect). I hate green but I actually like the way thet old World Cup Sunday looks by comparison to the white/red. At least the green is unique.
But I guess I'm just an armchair graphic designer....even if I'm actually a designer.

You ain't even skimming the surface here...there is much more still to be seen...keep your eyes peeled around the web. at events, and on the mountain ::cough::whistler::cough::len hornidge::cough:: for other graphic versions. There aint just one Sunday graphic in 07...I've said too much already...

I know this is only the tip of the iceberg of what 2007 has to offer; however Butter is right. It looks like no thought was put into the look of the bike (especially the font). From a design standpoint IH will probably keep the brand consistent throughout its Sunday lineup, so how much different could the other models look? Hopefully this is someone's idea of a joke! But you know what they say…. Opinions like an ear, everyone has one.
Bah, this graphic is nice and clean. It's very race oriented w/ a ton of room on the rear triangle for riders' sponsors decals. This particular color choice was done to tie in w/ Boxxers, 888's, and Travis forks. It also is pretty seemless to the Honda/Iron Horse team kit.
There are others that are distinctly "freeride" in feel. In all there will be 3 colors of Factory in race graphic, 1 color in freeride graphic. Then an Expert & an Elite w/ freeride graphic and Team & WC w/ race graphics. Both the Expert & Team will be black.
Trust me that there is quite a different feel to the freeride product vs the race product. I'll further tease and tell you that the MkIII and 6POINT stuff is just off the hook. The 6POINT is bananas!
Again, keep your eyes peeled as there is other stuff out there since Crankworx.
I can see the thought process behind the race graphics being more racer-boy-ish. Race bikes, like race cars, tend to be pretty loud and blocky with bold colors and fonts, and yes lots of room for sponsor logos.
Obviously there's the privateer side of me that is not sponsored and doesn't want to go all poser and have a bike that looks like I am (or gear like I am, which is why I hate replica jerseys) so I would prefer something else. I think the "freeride" graphics is probably more my speed. The 7Point for 06 had nice graphics I think, though I don't think they really went well with the red of teh 7.5. I'm sure they'll do something nice for most of the bikes if the 06 7Points are any indication of the direction they're going.
In terms of bikes I like....
Charge bikes - put their logos in interesting spots near BB or HT on downtube
Specialized 06 P.x - cool subtle skull graphics
Norco Shore bikes - interesting "grunge" snowboard style graphics
Specialized 07 bikes - some horrible colorways, but the idea that they strip paint off some spots for a nifty "used" effect is innovative
I could go on but there's a trend immerging....I prefer snowboard or skateboard style graphics or some hybrid of those and traditional bike graphics. The trends seem to be pointing this way for sure, so I'm sure I'll be pleased in the end.
Ultimately I didn't buy my IH for the graphics and I wouldn't roll that Sunday out of bed because of those graphics if someone gave me one.
Not many places to squeeze another lb by spec. Keep in mind that the MkIII is a trail bike. It's on the beefier side of the xc spectrum & the spec reflects this. If you want light weight stuff go Azure. That being said, rear shocks will all be Fox Floar R's, saddles are Selle Italia, and some other spec considerations to the weight weenies amongst us.
Will DT swiss(cheese) rims be on the 07 bikes - and if not what will?
Depends on the bike & model but yes, there is a fair bit of DT rim & wheel spec, including the hot new 1750 wheels. The 6.1d rims have been re-worked to cut down on denting.

Will they be custom shimmed for the DW link? And do the Floats include the new larger valve ports? (I know the 07 forks get larger ports but can't remember about the rear shocks)
