Shimano Nexus Inter 3 - ok to use a chaintug?

Is it ok to use a chaintug with the nexus 3 speed?

Using a chaintug, or even a washer, lessens the length of the axle inside the bell crank and I am wondering if this could in some way affect shifting.

How thick is the mount for the chaintug?

found out I had to use a chaintug or a washer as Shimano recommends the distance between the edge of the hub nut to the end of the axle to be 8-13 mm.

Sounds like you should be good to go. The bell crank setup does allow for some range in setup without impacting shifting. The chaintug should be fine, as long as you are not using a coaster brake version of the hub. Coaster brakes and chaintugs don't really work well together.
