    Rohloff fluid color

Changing the fluid/oil in my Rohloff. Is the color of the oil coming OUT of the hub suppose to be a gray color?

Yea it can be a bit grey depending on the age of the hub, miles covered and frequency of the oil change.
From memory the first couple are worse as the hub wears in.

I changed the oil in mine this weekend and, yes, the fluid was gray and dirty looking. Remember, there is also some water and dirt that has penetrated the hub.

Yes, definitely not uncommon for the used oil to be gray.
