    redline nexus hub

    I have a Trek Soho bike it has a belt drive and a 8 speed hub, the numbers on the hub are SG 8r31. Is this the red line model or the old one.

    8R30 and 8R35 have the 500 clutches, 8R31 and 8R36 have the 501 clutches (newest version). ASAIK, you're good (which is what the link previous post confirms):

    Indeed Pursuiter, you are right about the clutches, but the second page of my link also indicated he may have the standard model as opposed to the premium.

    Looks entirely like a longevity/efficiency difference between them on that page.

    The graph is probably 1% steps, the rollers are better by a slight amount, I wouldn't worry about it, the Sturmey Archer hubs has bushing and don't have issues with longevity.
