    Alfine Hub options...

Just to put you all in the picture..

i have a Genesis IO single speed complete bike with front suspension...

do i buy all the components to make up effecivly the IO ID (alfine hub) or sell my bike and buy used/new the Genesis IO ID ?..

parts i guess i would need would be :-
    18t alfine cog
    single bolt rotor
    alfine SG-S501 8 speed hub
    alfine shifter
    cable guides
change current chain for 8 speed hgs50 type.

(or put in 20t rear cog and change front chainring from 32t to 36t,,)

if the better option would be to sell my io and buy the io id is there any for sale on this forum ?

Parts list looks good. I just use zip ties for cable guides, the Alfine trigger shifter and the Nexus gripshift come with cable/housing. You'll need spokes too. I'd keep the bike and SS rear wheel, that way you have the choice to change between SS and IGH. It does require a rim too, you're already paying for wheel build labor and new spokes. If you use bolt-on grips and zip ties you can switch between SS and IGH in a few minutes.
