    Alfine 8 selector drum cracks.

My Alfine 8 started slipping in the lower gears and stripping revealed no obvious damage to any of the gears or clutches or shift pawls. One thing that did grab me was what looked like some cracks coming from the selector drum. No idea why this should happen, the fingers of the drum are restrained in a groove and I cant see why this could lead to slipping as all the three pawls seem to work fine with no obvious wear. Anyone seen this before?

I suppose, it is an effect of producing this part.
The picture is from a SG-8R36
It is not as bad as yours, but visible.
