    1/8" cogs for Alfine

There's a lot of really cool BMX singlespeed rings. But most use 1/8" chain. Are 1/8" cogs available for the Alfine?

You can use a 3/32 cog with an 1/8 chain just fine.

Sturmey-Archer sprockets are 1/8" and fit Alfine hubs, although the page says there will be problems with cogs smaller than 16t.
I like the idea of using a 1/8" drive train for durability reasons. I'd also recommend an Izumi Eco chain. I've compared a new one to a new SRAM single speed chain and the Izumi is much smoother, far less slop, and has a nicer finish. If you get the Izumi, don't clean the chain or lube it right off the bat. The chain comes lubed from the factory, and the stuff they use will last a MUCH longer than any aftermarket lube.

Just picked up my alfine - but I've been told that the Nexus sprockets have been discontinued! Good thing that the Sturmey-Archers look compatible!!!
