Tracer VP correct RP23 shock tune?
I recently bought a second hand Tracer VP 2009 with the new 2010 rear triangle and am having the same issues with suspension setup experienced by various other posters on this forum.
With correct sag it is way too soft and wallows about like mad. Using propedal 1 or 2 helps but I would reallly like to save this for using uphills not down. The strange thing is that this is supposed to affect larger riders more but I am only 65kg.
The shock the bike came with is a standard RP23 HV with compression tune low and rebound tune medium. Is this the correct tuning for the bike or have I been duped? Another post I found on here suggested that a medium compression tune is correct.
I'm not sure if it is the same for the 26" but I emailed Intense about the Tracer 29 and got this:
I suggest going for a low velocity tune and a mid rebound tune. This is what we stock on these bikes, and it works really well with the VPP suspension platform. Other tunes may not cooperate with the way our suspension works, and can negatively affect the ride quality of the bike.
If you have issues or questions just shoot them an email. They were quick to respond to me at least
Try to shim down that HV air can.
