    That looks really good!
Maybe it is the pic, but the BB looks rather high. Do you have an actual measurement?

Mostly due to the pic, but it's right at 14" in long travel mode and big tires. This bike is freaking fun.

what size rear tire? can I fit a 2.4", or does it of course depend on tire manufacturer?

How do you like the straightline silent guide? I bought one and plan to put it on the tracer 2 as well. Did you need to modify the cranks at all?

I really like it, easiest guide to setup that I've ever used. Should've ran one on my M9. No crank mods needed, just remove the inner ring and use the 2.5 mm spacers provided with the guide.

How long did it take to receive your frame? I just placed my order last night at Jensons. Yeah, I know, there is a long pre-order list. I should've pulled the trigger a long time ago. Oh, well.

The best way to describe it is like the heckler but with vpp, the heckler never had very good small bump performance and was just awful with a float shock but the tracer is super plush across the small bumps and even with the float feels bottomless on drops. I loved the riding feel of the heckler and wanted to get something as close to it as possible and it seems I have succeeded in doing so! Like I said it really is a super charged version

Mine arrived around March the 10th and I pre-ordered in January it was one of the first frames in the UK. So really the actual wait time was just for Intense to build the frames which was only a few weeks.

Nice build weescott! Can't wait for my frame to be delivered. I'll be using the same Talas 160 fork. Does the crown of the fork clear the down tube of the frame with that flush mount angleset?

1 degree slacker or steeper on your angleset? (Can't tell if -1 is neg one or hyphen one)

How'd you end up deciding on 160 Talas instead of 180? (or maybe the thought never came up?)

    P.S. Those pedals are hot!

BTW - couldn't help but to notice the Santa Cruz frame on the bike box there. Is there a story there? Or a comparison between the two bikes?

It is 1 degree slacker, giving a HA of 66 degrees and and a BB height of about 14 1/8th in the long travel position.

Oh and the frame behind is a battered up Santa Cruz Heckler, we both upgraded to the Tracer 2

The Tracer2 had it's first outing this weekend in the Scottish Highlands.

Verdict: Descending is just amazingly quick and lively. I demo'd a Rocky Mountain Slayer Carbon back to back with the Tracer2 on a rocky/rooty/loose section. The Tracer2 was MUCH more fun.

. With the 66degree HA it is like a mini DH weapon! For the climbs I ran the fork down to 120mm which worked ok. I was running 2.4" tyres so I was never going to be that quick.

@zhengki The right leg controls of the 36 clears the frame with about 2mm spare. The left leg with a few mm more.

@P-townDave. 180mm forks apart from being too big for the bike are more than I need for the intended riding of the Bike.

Pre-ordered mine back in December, received it March 19th. I do believe they're out there to be had.

Gorgeous! I'm torn between white and gunmetal for mine and now I'm leaning towards white.

    Tracer 2 - Works Blue

First Post on the forum. Big thanks to all the Tracer VP and Tracer 2 owners for all the photos and info, this bike has got to be one of the best all round bikes on the planet!

Still need to get a longer stem as its a bit twitchy and short on the climbs, and new bars, seatpost and front tyre (2.2 to match the rear). But the rides i've been on so far have been a piece of cake for this bike. i am definitely the weakest link!

    2009 Fox 36 Talas RC2 forks
Hope Pro 2 hubs on mavic EX721 rims
Hope Tech M4 Front & Mono X2 Pro rear brakes
    Middleburn RS7 crankset
    Burgtec Penthouse Mk3 pedals
    Conti Rubber Queen 2.2R 2.4F
    Saint shifter XTR mech

The Hope headset and donut tyres make it feel like a 66 degree headset angle, but changing it to the 2.2 version and a longer (70mm) stem should calm it down a bit.

Here's some photos, works blue is amazing. So bright in daylight sun, but goes a mid blue when overcast!

This is the bike. I'm swapping the fork for a 36 float; the wheels for 521s; the bar stem and saddle for my Chromag ones and the seatpost for my AMP and the big ring for a bash.

I'm also going to remove the dork disc.

Well I pretty close to finally building my Tracer 2, just waiting for a few small parts now. I received my medium frame last night, with the 142 axle installed the frame weighs and even 8lbs, a little higher than expected.

    • Frame - Tracer 2 - 3,624
    • Wheels - Sun Ringle Charger Pros - 1,699
    • Tires - 2011 Nobby Nics 2.35 - 1,221

    • Stem - Easton Havoc - 1.5" 65mm - 221
    • Headset - FSA Orbit Xtreme Pro 1.5 - 198
    • Handlebars - Easton EC70 Riser - 167
    • Seat Pot & Seat combined(Thomson & -WTB Pure V Pro Saddle) - 535
    • Brakes - Formula RX's Brakes (untrimmed, full length hoses) - 777
    • Cranks - with bash - 777
    • Bash -Remove - (88)
    • BB - Chris King - 106
    • Pedals - MG-1 Ti pedals - 298
    • Shifters - SRAM X0 10-speed rear shifter - 125
    • Rear Der - X.0 10-Speed - Short - 195
    • Cassette - XX 11-36 - 204
    • Chain - 1091R - 255
    • Grips - Foam - 22

    • Stans sealant- 75
    • Misc - 50
    • 13,015

I spend a lot of money to keep the weight down, it's replacing an 28lb 5.5, overall I pleased with the parts spec, can't wait to starting building & then riding!

    Geometry Details

Hi guys, thanks for all the pics & info on your Tracer 2's, its looking likely this will be my next bike

Would someone with a large Tracer 2, running a fox 36 160mm, mind grabbing me a front center measurement? (between front hub & BB center). BB heights seem a bit high at 14 1/8th... but i'm hoping that was just the 2.4 tires

does the travel adjust make any difference to BB height?

I think if I get one i'll run it with an angleset to slacken it out to 66, and maybe knock a teeny bit off the bb height...

    cheers for the help

Pre-order will take from 2-6 weeks. Depending on color, G1 dropout option, and rear shock option. Still waiting for mine, but not that much too eager to ride right now since I'm still enjoying my T1 before putting it on the ads section.
