Where do you get the coloured bearing caps, or have you had them anodised? Ah just seen where you say custom anodise

I need to find somewhere in the UK that does this looks ace.

Just find someone that does anodizing and send them off. If you get them done, tell the anodizer that they are 7075-T6. The rest of the parts I had done are 6061-T6. That's what it looked like at least from how the anodizing turned out.

    Smile intense tracer 2 build

    hey guys,

I was wondering weather the Hammerschmidt crankset would work on the Tracer 2 frame. I know the frame has ISG05 tabs but would the crankset still work well the bike.

Did any of the T2 owners check on tire clearance under full compression? How big is the gap between the seat tube and the tire (2.5 Maxxis or comparable) on a medium T2?

    Thanks!

Nice! How did the Stinger work out. No fitment issues? I'm looking at putting one on mine.

One bike to rule them all....

Just finished building my new tracer this morning. Only managed a roll down the road this morning as i'm moving house today, closer to the trails though so happy days.

Bikes feels awesome, so smooth, and it looks the nuts!

This is the bike that i've settled on after an Orange 5, Intense SS, Intense 5.5 and an Intense 951. All great bikes, but this one looks to suit the riding i do most often and cover pretty much all bases. Here's hoping.

    So:
    Large 2011 Tracer in Gunmetal
    Fox RP23BV
    Fox Float 32 RLC 15QR ('09 with 2011 stickers)
    Hope / Mavic 521 wheels
    Maxxis Crossmarks (ATM)
    SLX Rear Mech
    XT Front Mech
    XT Cranks
    XT Cassette
    SRAM Chain
Diety Decoy Pedals / Crank Bros Mallets
    Thomson X4 70mm stem
    Race Face Atlas FR bars
    Ragley Grips
    SLX Shifters
Avid Elixir w/203 Hope floating rotors.
Ritchey WC seat post (pile of crap)
    Charge Spoon Saddle
    Cane Creak HS

Can't wait to ride it!! Thanks Intense and Southfork Racing. (http://www.southforkracing.com)

@L. Ron Hoover: compliments for the bike, but have you measured the effective angle with Cane Creek angleset with the -0,5 cup? because is zero stack and for have effective 66,5 degrees, for me you have to use the cup -1

For Intense Staff: is it possible that there isn't yet a "shock setup guide" and a "rebuild guide" with torque infos??

I haven't measured it, I'm just going by the specs. It may indeed be that my head angle is 67 and not 66.5. I'll try to mesure it to see.

    And your English is fine!

    New Tracer 2

Here is mine. I only have one ride on it so far and think I still have some work to do to dial in the suspension. So far it rides well and like a 6 in bike. The steering is a little slow but maybe a shorter stem will help. Anyways it is great looking and is a great descender for sure. Mine weighs about 32lbs, but I could run some lighter wheels, just need to break these ones first.

Anyone Knows if T2 is made with Easton aluminium tubesets?. The frames doesn´t appear any Easton stick, and not on donwtube with headset, like T1.

Correct me if I am wrong. I came from Rocky mountain bike, they too no longer use Easton tube. From what I know many bike manufactures are going for the hydroformed tubing than Easton tube. Its a cheaper cost technology in tubing design because the Easton tapered tubes are patent stuff. Performance wise not sure but you will not get a nice straight tapered down tubes. Instead u get a bloated 'S' shape down tube. TheS shape down tube might post disadvantage, will tends to get hit by rocks & stone as compare with straight one if clearance not good enough.
But what I see is an Art Intense has made. A combine monochrome *** hydroform tube. Hope price is kept low.

I think I'll start a thread dedicated to dream bikes in your unlimited choice of colors.
Which color would you choose? Obviously Intense is gonna be the answer for the dream bike choice.
Yes I'm gonna do it. keep an eye out. This thread is coming soon.

My bike is Chrome Blue. The sun sort of washes out the color in the pics, so it is a little brighter then in looks. Thanks a bunch to Dave at Redstone cyclery for help putting this together.

    Hi quickneonrt,
headset cc angleset is a zero stack and from personal experience, I suggest you use the cup -1 if you want a real steering angle of 66.5 degrees.

Yes, I bought the Mavic adaptor for the T2 before Intense decided to launch it with QR.

I ran the SX wheels on my Heckler and noticed quite a bit of flex, but even with QR the T2 is massively more stiff than the Heckler so I'm not so bothered about going 142x12 now. Not say I won't change my mind in 6 months time though.

+1 for the 2012 XT - I would like a set of those cranks. I think I saw them online, but it said 2-3 weeks before available. I'm just about to put together my new Tracer but would love to get some of those while I can still return the cranks I have but I can't wait 3 more weeks.

Ridding impressions with a Fox 32:

I was curious what your thoughts were with the frame and having a 32 on there rather then a 36. It seems like rocking a 36 is more common with this rig but I'm kind of curious how the 32 holds up with your riding style. I'm somewhat torn between picking up one of those closeout deals on Jenson or saving up some more cash for the latest frame version. I also heard that the new frame is more in the AM/DH world where the older verison is more the XC/AM world. I plan on using a 5in fork rather then a 6in. There was a interesting article on pinkbike on the new marz coil 44. My riding style fits into the AM world. I used to have a stable of bikes but slowly sold them off and looking to have a solid all arounder. I'm slowly getting away from the FR/DH world and I don't XC from time to time, but I'm a fan of climbing up but being able to hit stuff on the way down. I live in Hood River, so Post Canyon is in my backyard so it's up and down and stunts along the eay. Anyway, enough of me rambling. I'm jealous of everyone's builds!!!!! Thanks for the help.

ZM - I'm going the Talas 32 route with my new build as I plan on using the 5.5" setting rather than the 6" and would classify myself as more of a trai/AM rider that likes to hit the occassional jump along the way. I live in SoCal and most of the trails I ride around here are don't warrant the need for a extra suspension and I'm a believer in not lugging the extra weight around if you really don't need it. Hell, my current ride only has a Talas 100 and very rarely do I actually bottom out on that so if figure the 32 should be just about right IMO.

Here's my T2 after months of waiting for parts. Haven't really tried it on the trails yet because it's been raining here in the Philippines for a week already
