for me it looks like a SV. My Shocks outer Diameter(measured outside, not at the threads!)is 1.817,5.
Sorry for hijacking your Thread.
Actually, I am really happy with my CTD shock running at 25-30% Sag.
Except one detail, the C(Climb) Mode is more or less the same as the T(Trail) Mode in case of "good pedalling" . I am looking for a more stable platform with less "pump" when pedaling standed on paved roads.
Do you think a CC DB Inline works better in this case?
Thanks for your suggestions.
Take this with a grain of salt as I have never used an inline (did have the CCDB coil for a period) but presumably you could dial in more low speed compression with the inline to give you a firmer feel than the climb mode on the CTD or your could send the CTD into push/fox custom tune/avalanche, other to have more compression tuned into it, which might be the cheaper option. Keep in mind that if you dial in more LSC on the inilne, you need to take out a tool to dial it back out once you hit the trail. Seems like a pain to me.
I actually rarely use the climb mode given it gives up too much traction IMHO but then again, I am not really riding on too many paved or fire roads.
With your Float shocks, is there a noticeable difference in compression damping between the D and T and C modes? I can't feel any even in Climb, and Descend doesn't feel any more "open" than the other settings.
The LBS and Intense have both said it has "a light tune" so there isn't supposed to be much platform, but I'm skeptical the CTD settings would feel almost the same.
The DB Inline has a variable and progressive climb switch to increases LSC and LSR as opposed to an on/ off compression dampening mode.
The Inline is a great shock. I have one on my Spider 29 AL and I run very little LS and HS compression dampening on my tune and fairly fast LS and HS rebound dampening. This gives the bike a lively pop feel. If I'm climbing seated I run it wide open, if I'm hammering up in and out of the saddle I engage the climb switch to whatever degree I need. With the Inline I have great small bump compliance, good mid stroke support and a bottomless feel! It's a superior shock compared to the 3 other shocks I had on my Spider.
I just bought a Spider Comp frame and it'll get an Inline as well.
Sorry for the thread jack but I thought I'd clear up the misconceptions about the Inline here.
Get a 200-57 CCDB inline and run a 2.25" rear tire. Best combination for all around. You get an extra 14mm of travel and the tire wont hit in the long travel mode. I run the CST tire in the back and the tire never hits the seat tube on full bottom out even in long travel mode. Plush o Rama. Run 30% sag at its all butter. Best all around bike I have ever ridden to date.
I received the spacers today and installed the smallest of the five options to start. It took maybe three minutes to do and did not require removing the shock from the bike. All you have to do is let the air out of the shock, unscrew the air can, slide the large silver washer down from the top of the shock and snap the spacer in the vacant area above the washer at the top of the shock.
Bottoming the bike again this weekend from modest hits/landings reconfirmed my excitement to get this installed. I will report back after getting some time in on the mod. I'll be hitting two weeks in Nepal with it shortly.
