    regrets from 27.5?

    I am just wondering if anyone has go back to 26 after converting to 27.5? reasons??

    To be honest I don't notice a big difference since I converted my Carbine to 27.5, except in rollover and maintaining momentum. There is definitely something to the voodoo, but its not an order of magnitude better.

    No way...275 is way better. I can tell a huge difference in the roll. Also, being a taller rider makes me not look like I dwarf my bike.

    The question should be has anyone gone back to 26 or 29.

    When i was shopping, I would ride my 29er to the shop, test ride a 27.5, then ride my 29er back and think about how my old bike felt better than the fancy new one I just tested.
    I ended up buying a 29er.

    To me, this is exactly what the current marketing of 650B/27.5 sounds like.
    Yes it will benefit certain sized people, or those riding specific conditions.
    Yet it is NOT the end all, quiver-killer that the Madison Ave. folks would have you believe.

    At 6'3" 29ers fit me well, other than a parking lot test ride, I've got zero interest in 650B,
    and I do not miss riding, and sailing OTB on 26ers.
    Call me a crusty old curmudgeon who never had a mullet.

    I would love to try a long travel 29er like the Carbine - but in TN no demos exist. But I did roll the dice on the Tracer 275 (from an Uzzi) and love it. It's the perfect bike.

    regrets from 27.5?

    I've been on a 29er for a year or so and love it. I climb better, love the rollover and think they look great. It is a little tough through the slow technical climbs and tight switchbacks but I have no desire to go back to 26.
    I did just demo a Pivot carbon 5.7 27.5. It did everything my 29er does but really felt better cornering and jumping.

    I like 26, I like 29ers and I really enjoy my 27.5 , if I had my way, I would have multiple bikes in multiple wheel sizes.

    Some marketing bloke must be pissing himself laughing. I bet it all started out with a brainstorming session on how to generate more revenue. Someone mentioned about re-inventing the wheel again as 29" was a bridge too far. So they set about selling us something that looks the same, feels the same but has a different number. All the millions of 26" bikes sold over the past couple of years become obsolete overnight, the magazines bowed to their masters and sold us the dream, the next big thing to make us better, faster and happier. The fools gold you buy won't make you ride better, faster or be happier. It will empty your pockets again though and keep the manufacturers and their slave media in jobs. Def going 29er next, unless Giant pull the plug like they say........

    Thank you for helping me see the light, keeping manufactures and their slave media, in fact keeping anyone in a job is a tragic thing. I vow to never buy anything new to do my part to keep these evil bike manufactures, who knowingly hire heartless marketing people that convinced me a new bike would equal enjoyment, from having decent paying jobs.

    Why so bitter? 27.5 has been a great boon for small manufactures and bike shops everywhere, considering the recession we sort of just came out of, having a great year due to a new wheel size kept people employed and invigorated an industry. I see this as a good thing, more revenue equals more investment to improve, innovate and change the sport. Without that, we still would be ridding rigid steel bikes that weighed 40lbs and handled like crap.

    I would like to try an enduro 29er to really see what this 29er thing is about, i had the chance to ride two 29er hardtails and didnt like them, i jumped from my bltc and dislike the feeling of the 29er, my bike is heavy at 30.9lbs but the big wheels felt like driving a truck, it really felt heavier...
    Now changing to 27.5 seems a matter of time since manufacturers are abandoning the Now obsolete 26 wheels, in the meanwhile i really lust after a Nomad C 26er or an Evil Uprise in the same size, Silvia Saint and Nicole Aniston kind of bikes, the first has been around since a long time but is still sexy, the second new school and blows your mind every time you see her.... ahhhh how not to be in love with these wheels?

    Two months ago I was thinking in switching to a 27.5 or even in converting my Carbine but after demoing a few 27.5 bikes I decided to upgrade my suspension and right now I am happy 26er rider.

    im not gonna lie after riding my Carbine 26 for the last year and a half, then "upgrading" to a new Carbine 275...it took me more adjustment than I had anticipated. Bike felt taller and less agile in the tight stuff. I am used to it now, adjusting the way I ride, after playing around with set up and taking wider arcs on switchbacks etc...If I was to do it again I wouldnt convert as the difference is so minor, but it definately rolls over the rough stuff better
