    Old Tracer Driveline Issue

Any help please! I have a 2000 tracer with XTR 952 drivetrain-5800 miles. Nearly perfect up until recently. Chain started coming off in the middle ring/largest cog gear combination. I installed a new chain and new middle ring. Works well again except chain drops completely off towards inside on backward peddle or roll back just a few feet in same gear combination. Shifting is flawless thoughout front and back ranges and no visible signs of damage. 2 shops have checked it and say function is good but chainline is extreme in that ring/cog combination. No ideas on how to correct. This can't be normal, can it? Any suggestions?

    Intense Tracer

It may be a derailleur hanger, or it could just be set up of the front derailleur. In this case I would take the bike to your most trusted shop mechanic, and get there diagnosis. If you do need a hanger, your Tracer uses the same one as our latest xc/am frames.
