I still think the frames the the pro's like Anneke Beerten ride look better, rear is thinner and vertical dropouts, hopefully those will hit the market someday too

Please Mr Intense ship one of those drop dead gorgeous black ones in small over the water to the UK asap . I did contact the UK importers this week - no stock or price as yet. Any UK folks managed to get hold of one?

Extra, the UK distributors, now have them in stock in both sm and med. RRP is £549.99. Reckon I'll go for the black

Thanks, I quite fancy the red which is unusual for me as I usually don't go for red. The black looks really nice too though

Would love a large HT. Wonder if I can get Extra to let me have a go on a medium?

I'm considering replacing my Black Market Mob, but I noticed that the chainstay length on the Tazer HT is listed as 16.75". Is that correct??? Are they really that long?

The Mob I have is 15-5/8" and the other frame I'm considering - the 2011 Specialized P3 - is 15-1/2", and I'd prefer to stay with short chainstays for easier jump manualing.

Well I'm (im)patiently waiting for mine to arrive at the LBS so I'll let you know as soon as I have it. Eventually decided on black

Yep, I guess 16.75 would be the measurement to the centre of the dropouts. With the wheel as far forward as it'll go chainstay measures 16.25" (plenty of room for a 2.35 High Roller) and there's about an inch more movement should you want to run the wheel further back . . . and the ano black does indeed look fantastic

    More pics once it's built.

Thanks for the confirmation mamadirt. With so many other major and prominant 4X/DJ frame companies offering 4X/DJ hardtails with sub 16" chainstays, I don't know what prompted Intense to go so long with this bike. Were they trying to make it XC friendly??? Bummer.

I am curious to hear the reasoning.

It does look nice, though! (although very similar to the 2011 Giant STP)

All done now - first ride yesterday and gave it a baptism of fire on my local short d/h track . . . fantastic . . . but today I can hardly move - my back and ankles are aching like crazy and I'm desperately trying to tell myself to WTFU and that my old bones don't need 7" travel any more .

It rides very nicely with the Lyriks set at 120ish, winding them out a couple of cms for the downs. Toptube length is super-short - much shorter than my previous small Tazer VP but this makes it super-nippy on the twisty downhills. Now, where did I put the Paracetamol

Mine are set at 120mm in the pic. I'd guess that 100-120 would be ideal.

Someone mentioned about the chainstays. The website originally stated 16.75", that was the LONGEST setting, you can get 16.25" but sliding the dropout all the way forward. Sorry about that, but luckily the new site is easily editable. Enjoy those hardtails.

Finally turned up, must admit the pictures just dont do this frame any justice what so ever. Ive taken the build off my tracer, reduced the Fox 36s down to 110mm. Had a quick blast on it around the streets, loving it .

This is only a temperary build for now, got something special planned for this one

Thanks , couldnt believe i found this one on ebay. been wanting one for AGES

The plan is to go completely black. and then get a set of Black Industry Nine Hubs, with black spokes, build them onto Spank Tweet Tweet rims in purple. with a purple lead and trail spoke. No just to find the money....

They got the longer chainstays for high speed stability on fast 4x track and stuff i guess. Im 6ft4 i cant complain with a longer bike because i love these and im waiting on getting a job and saving for one soon. Are the decals on the black one stickers or anodized on? If i got one itd go all black, destickers, looking stealth

No, on the black, the decals are printed/etched so can't be removed. Looks awesome though.

Does anyone know what the max tire width for rear wheel? I'm gonna try to fit something larger than 2.35" if possible.
