    '99 Uzzi SL suspension travel

eluv, I'm having trouble finding a 6.5" x 1.5" air shock, would the next size 7.5" x 2.0" fits well into a '99 Uzzi SL paired with an 130mm fork?

I haven't checked in here for awhile. Some nice older rigs still tearing up the trails. Anybody else care to contribute? I can't get enough of these old Intense bikes.

It'll bring your BB up pretty high.
If you do use that shock size, I'd recommend swapping to SLX shock links, run with the short side up (running to the seatstay), shock mounted in the lowest hole.

That Tazer looks great! I posted my 2001 Tazer FS rescued from the scrap heap over on this thread back in 2010 but sadly lost all my decent pics when fotopic went down. I managed to save this tiny one as a result of a google search . . .

It was cracked around the shock mount gussets and also rewelded at both seat stays but I loved it to bits and rode it regularly (albeit carefully ), only selling it on when I managed to unearth a lovely raw Tazer VP. Now 6 Tazers later (sadly all sold on ) I've sourced another 2001 FS, this time in one piece and I can't flinkin' wait

    Watch . . . this . . . space

    Cool!!
And nice band by the way. I see your only jamming a 4pc. group. Have you been looking for a fifth? Possibly a keyboardist?

What are dimensions of rear shock on original Tracer? Those that have run fork 120mm or greater, did you experiment with different size rear shocks?

Unless you are running an uzzi-sl link a stock older Tracer is meant for an 80 m.m. fork, 100 m.m. Max.

Got it. Thx. Do you happen to know the eye to eye dimension and travel of stock rear shock for original Tracer?

No! Sorry, I have the original Tracer sales broshure but it doesn't give that info. I don't own a Tracer hopefully someone can chime in with that info. for you.
I can tell you geometry measurements if you need them.

New Rear Shock for Intense Tracer?

This forum has it at 6.5 x 1.5. It was the best I could find on Google.

It's arrived!!! and in pretty damn perfect condition for an 11 year old frame

Spent most of Friday with a tin of polish and touch up paint and finished the build in time for the weekend.

Had originally intended running the Fox Vanilla rear shock and swapping the Lyriks for something lighter but for the mo' I'm loving the burly Marz Roco/Lyrik combo.

Ignore the quirky angle of the chainguide in that pic - a bit trial and error to get it positioned so that the chainstay wouldn't hit it on compression. All sorted now . . .

A tad pic heavy I know but damn it's a good looking bike

Mama Dirt I love that bike. Just curious about your crankset. Did you paint it red?

    Cheers!

No paint - the cranks are pewter Raceface Northshore 165s and the chainring is a Profile Racing red ano 34T.

Hey nothing that some steelwool and a little elbow grease won't fix.

This is my second Uzzi SL - this one has a Tracer rear end. Long story, but it starts when my first Uzzi SL cracked at the 'seatube' weld (below the pivot 'knuckle')

Nice ride! You got me curious on that long story. And the fact that your frame cracked there. I've had my SL since new 02' and have never heard of any front triangle failures. A few rear triangle cracks but even that I have only heard of two. Were you jumping it? And this new setup with a Tracer rearend do you still get the 4.5" travel as an SL? I know it is popular for Tracer owners to opt for an SL rear for more travel but vice versa is a new one on me. You were forced go go that route I'm sure due to the lack of a available SL traiangles out there.

Can anyone comment, from experience, how these old Horst links compare to VPP and DW Link.
