    Fricken AWESOME looking machine!

I've been waiting on this a while.

I do have two concerns/questions for any one who has the insight. That shock is gonna get hammered with crap off the tire. Why no fender? The V10 is looking sweet in that department.

The back wheel in the complete bike pic looks close to the bottom link and it is only in the middle G3 setting. I hope it will work in the short setting with a 2.5 tire.
I was bummed when I could not use my 951 in the short setting with a full 2.5 DH tire. I was wanting the shorter CS and slacker HA with the angleset but could not do it because the tire hits the brace. WTF? Then I saw this coming along and thought my dreams may be answered!! That pic has got me worried. Really, why bother having that setting if you can not run it with a downhill tire? Is it "freeride" setting and makes you use a smaller tyre for pedal efficiency....on a WC racebike?? Maybe I am worried about nothing and this has already been considered. Does anyone know if there is enough clearance back there on the M9 for the short setting and DH beef?

    Beautiful!

How does this compare to the 951 in terms of capability, intended use etc?

Get your penny's saved! Was lucky enough to have a spin on Mr simmonds M9. Very nice indeed. Not sure about tire clearance as it was on the middle setting. Would make a nice Christmas present to yourself!

    a question for jeff/stick...

Why on the M9 did you forgo the box section cross brace on the swingarm as used on the 951 and SS2 and go back to the machined "H" plate as in previous generation M's...? I can't tell for sure on any of the pictures except for the "up the skirt" shot in the press release, but it looks as if you went with the older design. Personally, I found that the box cross brace made a HUGE difference in lateral stiffness.

The rear shock is going to take a beating by rocks and mud.

Looks like the rear tire will rub the link in the short G3 setting. I know my 951 frame rubs the rear Muddy Marry 2.35 or a Minion 2.5 in the short G3 setting. Hopefully there is more clearance on the M9.

Jeff, any plans on implementing a carbon fiber fender; (similar to the V-10's), to keep the muck off the linkage???
