    Fricken AWESOME looking machine!

I've been waiting on this a while.

I do have two concerns/questions for any one who has the insight. That shock is gonna get hammered with crap off the tire. Why no fender? The V10 is looking sweet in that department.

The back wheel in the complete bike pic looks close to the bottom link and it is only in the middle G3 setting. I hope it will work in the short setting with a 2.5 tire.
I was bummed when I could not use my 951 in the short setting with a full 2.5 DH tire. I was wanting the shorter CS and slacker HA with the angleset but could not do it because the tire hits the brace. WTF? Then I saw this coming along and thought my dreams may be answered!! That pic has got me worried. Really, why bother having that setting if you can not run it with a downhill tire? Is it "freeride" setting and makes you use a smaller tyre for pedal efficiency....on a WC racebike?? Maybe I am worried about nothing and this has already been considered. Does anyone know if there is enough clearance back there on the M9 for the short setting and DH beef?

How does this compare to the 951 in terms of capability, intended use etc?

Get your penny's saved! Was lucky enough to have a spin on Mr simmonds M9. Very nice indeed. Not sure about tire clearance as it was on the middle setting. Would make a nice Christmas present to yourself!

    a question for jeff/stick...

Why on the M9 did you forgo the box section cross brace on the swingarm as used on the 951 and SS2 and go back to the machined "H" plate as in previous generation M's...? I can't tell for sure on any of the pictures except for the "up the skirt" shot in the press release, but it looks as if you went with the older design. Personally, I found that the box cross brace made a HUGE difference in lateral stiffness.

The rear shock is going to take a beating by rocks and mud.

Looks like the rear tire will rub the link in the short G3 setting. I know my 951 frame rubs the rear Muddy Marry 2.35 or a Minion 2.5 in the short G3 setting. Hopefully there is more clearance on the M9.

Jeff, any plans on implementing a carbon fiber fender; (similar to the V-10's), to keep the muck off the linkage???

jeff, any chance you could get ahold of the reach / stack measures for the new bike? it looks sick, but I definitely wanna know about sizing.

on a similar thread, will there be any changes in sizing? I love how the M6 rides, but the bike is just too short for me. an extra .5-.75" of reach on the large would make life amazing.

We will be publishing some more detailed geo charts soon with stack & reach and tuning numbers achievable with the adjustments the M9 offers. One of the areas we spent time improving on the m9 was the rider positioning ( weight Bias) and the medium is now about 1/2" longer reach.

That must be rhetorical. Why would any manufacture make a DH frame that would not fit the most popular DH tire on the planet.

ummmm because that same combo on a 951 in the short G3 setting rubs. As a matter of fact it hit so hard on my buddies 951 the rear tire hardly rolled when you pushed the bike. Lastly, the tire rubs on the M6 as well.

I like my uzzi vp in the short setting and the minion was going to be the next rear. Hope it will be OK.

What happened to the M2, M4, M5, M7, and the M8? Now we have the M9? Hell, I'm still riding my 2003 M1. Guess I better pull out the wallet!!

    Like explained above...
The Minion 2.5 and Muddy Mary 2.35 rub in the G3 short setting. You have to run it in the middle setting and it still is SUPER close.

I ordered mine today. But i am not so sure about which shock to take? Rc4or ccdb? Ccdb really worth the Upgrade Price? In this special vpp2 case?
Dirtmag Said something about really worth riding ccdb in a single pivot. Does it make a big difference?

There is with out a doubt the CCDB is worth it.
