New Alloy intense M16, could this be a test mule for the carbon DH Jeff hinted on some time ago.

Downtube looks like the ones on the intense m6 Evo.

    Intense m16

There will be some news soon I'm sure. I know the carbon one has been doing the rounds at shows in top secret though.

Noice!!! Once I'm finished with my T275 build I'll hopefully be replacing the old M6 with one of these! Stealth black aluminum, please.

Well considering Intense has been using the VPP system for quite some time now... I'm thinking some of the Intense and SC bikes are probably going to look similar. This is what this new M16 has in common with the V10:

-VPP suspension (so the swingarms and links will be similar)
    -Wheels. Two of them.
-Brakes. To make the wheels stop.
-Clicker things that make the gears change.

On a less sarcastic note... it looks beautiful.

I've heard a few people say this and I'm super confused. Have you guys just never seen an M3 or M6 or M9 before? The M16 just happens to look like the next evolution of that line.

And yeah, the entire time each iteration also looked similar to a V10 of each era because they are both long travel VPP bikes.

So I got bored at work and busted out MS Paint to see how each bike evolved. When looked at this way, it almost seems like santa cruz started out following intense's lead rather than the other way around:Intense m16-evolutions.jpg

Rick, will we see an alloy m16 or will production go straight to carbon? This thing is getting me all excited like only an intense can

The welds look beautiful. Being riding carbon (C29) and had a look at alloy frames recently, somehow they feel more "real". There could be resurgence of interest in alloy frames soon (may even be happening now).

Man, I hate aluminum frames since I got my first carbon frame. I appreciate the workmanship and all, but ride characteristics I can't imagine why anyone would prefer aluminum. If this bike came in a size for people above 6'5" and carbon, I'd already have an order in. The V10 looks pretty sweet too, but man, I'd sure like to have that extra inch and a CCDB! Probably gonna hold off another year for a new bike and see how this pans out with all the Intense Carbon rumors floating around. (not that they'll ever make a big guy size anyway)
