Good job! Hard Eddie owners : Where does this part go?

Hard Eddie owners : Where does this part go?-img_1213.jpg

Does this go inside the frame? I assume is for the internal cable where it exits the opening in the frame?

Can I please request somebody with a hard eddie to take a photo of their frame at this area?

Trying to build this up and really appreciate any help. Rep. points in return.

Here's a shot I just snapped of a brand new frame. Grommet inserts into the opening, cable comes out.

    Hi Sam, thanks for photo,

So the grommet is supposed to go between the frame and the plastic protection cover?

The whole time I was under the impression that I stick the grommet inside of the frame tubing? Where the groove is on the grommet, that is the same thickness as the frame material and thats how it is secured to the frame.

Also, short side of the grommet on the outside of the frame, long side inside of the frame? (hard to see in your photo). Is this correct?

    Appreciate your help.

Correct- the grommet goes part inside and part outside, with the frame securing it in place. The downtube guard then goes over the top, but the cutout slot will keep it exposed. The grommet is oriented so that the cable feeds out properly, so make sure its not flipped the other way.

Sam, just to double check that i understand your message, i dont put my hands inside the frame tubing to insert the grommet. Everything happens outside?

And yes, will make sure i have the grommet in the right direction.

Wont really matter if you have a hand inside the tubing or not- might make it easier to insert the grommet though.

    Hi Loll,

Sorry to get off topic, but do you have a weight of just the bare frameset and what size are you riding?
I,m presently looking to pull the trigger on a new 2014 build over the winter and am very interested in the Hard Eddie.

    thx
    Dave
