    Free Fork with Intense Tracer

We always wonder how powerful the MTBR forums are when it comes to marketing our brand. I was checking through the warehouse and we have some Rock Shox Revelation 426 forks left over from SRAM build kits we offered last year. To test the power of the MTBR forum I am willing to offer these for FREE with the purchase of a new Tracer VP frame. Just go to your local dealer(U.S. dealers only) have them order up a Tracer VP and tell them you want the FREE fork. I dont have many and once they are gone they are gone. No future ship dates, no "well I just bought a Tracer", no "my dealer has one in stock, he just needs the fork". This is a test to gauge, new orders coming from the MTBR crowd and how quickly the word gets from MTBR to the dealer.

Let me know what you think

    Inventory...

My understanding is that Intense has actual standing inventory of Tracer's too, after commiting a lot of production resources to the frame. Therefore its not a "free fork now and in January, you'll get your frame..." :-)

The 1st post was pretty straight forward. I bet a LOT of people who saw this thread 1st thing they did were to check with their lbs rather than responded here instead. What Pecusick did was very noble indeed - he could have either sold it at a discount or pass it on free to the bike dealers instead and wouldnt have gotten this kinda response. It would be prolly safe to say this will be the LAST anyone see these kind of offers from Intense.
No doubt my next bike will be an Intense knowing well the people behind the brand has the riders interest on 1st priority...salute.

    Here we go again

This remindes me of the "name the new Tracer " idea. I think Intense means well but it looks like a recipe to PO a lot of people off.

For heavens sake, what's the big deal? Intense has decided to give a limited supply of old forks away with frames if you want one. Intense is a business not a charitable organization. It is an incentive to sell a few frames. This decision was made yesterday, I assume. Maybe I should start crying because they won't give me a free fork for my four year old 5point5 frame. If you have already bought a New frame, tough luck. Live with it.

The trouble with having an open mind is that people will insist on trying to put things in it.

Livin' widdit. The way I see it, I already have mine, it's sweet, it's exactly what I wanted, and it's already dirty from being ridden. There was no need for further incentive to buy. Good deal for those that need a little push.

And I live in Bend with hundreds of miles of sweet single track out my back door.

Anyone feel sorry for me for missing this deal?

You ***** more than a twelve year old school girl between this post and the one about your wait. So if you buy something and it goes on sale or a “kicker” is added in at some point in time than irrespective of when you bought it, you deserve to get that price reduction or kicker to?

You made a deal to purchase a product at an already predetermined price. That is called a contract. I already purchased my Tracer and I don’t feel entitled to a fork because I made the deal prior to this announcement. This happens all the time!!!

My buddy just bought an M3 and the next week they lowered interest rates on the cars to 0.9%. Should they refinance his loan for him? I bought stock in June and now it is cheaper to buy, should my stock broker make up the difference for my judgment for the timing of my decision to buy? If companies had to retrospectively and prospectively reprice all products for every promotion, there would be no such thing as a promotion as the new promotion price would be the standard price for all product sold.

I am comfortable saying this because again, I recently bought one and I understand that I am not entitled to a fork period. Kudos to Intense for this offer.

    Noble pecusick

Good move and maybe the thought was lost on some here that this was a feeler offered to the mtbr denizens to guage response to "posted" comments. I think this is a great move from a great bike company. Although I have a Tracer on order from my local bike shop and I'm waiting patiently for the frikkin thing to arrive, I'll not suggest that my local bike shop include the proffered fork with my long awaited large white Tracer! Did I mention I have a Tracer on order? ( I think RTW pushed mine to the back of the warehouse because I sold my camo 6.6)

There nothing wrong with trying to get a deal. When I bought my Hummer H2-SUT it was new but it was a left over got a great deal on it. At the time GM was running a deal where if you buy the new model you get the top of line DVD system aka the one thats in the head rests factory DVD system. for like $1500.00 which is dirt cheap to make a long story short I pushed the issue and got it. I like getting the most for my money I try to get the best deals at all times. And yes I have and know people who have gotten there rates change to a better deal for house's and auto's Oh when you buy a bike its not a contract. There is always room for a deal if you have balls to push the issue. from Johnny.G

    Darn I am a loser.

You missed my point. I take zero issue with anyone seeing if Intense would extend the deal outside of its parameters of new orders for this fork. Ask all you want, and I agree there is nothing wrong with trying to get a deal. If you get it, I think that is fantastic.

What I took issue with in this post is the fact that you took a pejorative tone towards intense for offering new purchasers a deal that technically precludes you prior to even asking if they might be considerate enough to extend it to you. If they do honor it for you that is great, good work for trying just don't ***** on here if you don't get it and please don't complain prior to even asking for it given the fact that technically you aren't entitled to it. Same goes for the timing post (see negative tone in both posts below). Positive posts are appreciated unless there really is a reason to rant about the brand.

I am looking forward to seeing the new ride once you get it - trust me it is sick. Hatchet buried!

So let me get this straight because I just bought my Tracer Vp I can't get a free fork? If that is the case thats great. Well I sent a e-mail to Richard's Bike where I bought my Tracer Vp with a Intense XT kit on-line to contact you guys at Intense so I guess I will see what happens about this free fork thing. Just got a e-mail from Richards bike AKA that is were I bought my 2009 Intense Tracer VP with a Intense XT build kit. There are no Intense Dealers in R.I and in near by Conn and Mass they have nothing in stock to even test ride. So I give Richards a deposit order my bike with XT kit. Got a Fox 2009 Fox 36 Talas RC2 1.5 fork. So I know its going to be about maybe give or take about two to three weeks for the frame to come in from Intense all the other stuff AKA should be no problem. WELL I WAS WRONG JUST GOT A E-MAIL FROM RICHARD BIKE THREE TO FOUR WEEKS ON THE XT BUILD KIT. I GUESS SHIMANO IS BACK UP THATS FUNNY YOU GUYS WHO GOT TRACER'S AND POSTED YOUR BIKES ALL HAVE SHIMANO. IF I NEW THIS WOULD HAVE HAPPEN. I WOULD HAVE GOTTEN THE DEALERS!!!! BUILD KIT. THANKS INTENSE THIS IS MY FIRST INTENSE AND IS THE MOST I HAVE EVER SPENT ON A MOUNTAIN BIKE. THANKS ALLOT. You bought an H2? Good decision, based of course on gas prices and the trends that were so bad that GM had to sell the division.

Do you complain about how gas prices are killing you too?

No matter what the H2 cost, you got ripped off. Those things are piles. Was the rebate bigger or did the dealer actually discount it?

I sure hope this wasnt aimed at me. My post was suppose to be funny. I think it might be worth asking if you could get a fork, but if not, live with it.

Heck, when I bought my Jeep, they offered 0% financing and $500 cash back the day after I bought it. I called up my salesman at Jeep and told him thanks for letting me know.

The salesman would not have known that info until the next day A car salesman's job is to get you the best deal at the given time. The finance offers fromt he auto companies are not leaked to the dealerships prior to the dates of the incetive program.

Btw, this was awesome idea. Curious, but what were the numbers pecusick? Did you get a bunch of people actually ordering frames with the fork thing? How many, if you dont mind? Im curious to the power of the intense mtbr forum, too. Also, Im sure you got a few calls from dealers regarding people complaining that they should get a fork, ect like mr johnny g...?
