New question here. Carbine 26" with Cane Creek Double Barrel Air CS

    Hello guys,

    I have two simple questions:
has anyone tried the Carbine with Double Barrel, how does it work?
with the fit tool on Cane Creek Site seams that the Carbine (only 26") has a speciality sized shock 200 mm x 55 mm (7.87 in x 3.5 in ...I think 3.5 is an error of fit calculator because is 89mm)?
I actually found these measures on my current shock Fox ...with surprise

Two of my friends have the DB (non-CS) and love it. I have an RP23 - the DB is clearly better. I'm trying a BOS Vip'r in a few days and then either getting a BOS or a DB.

55mm isn't 3.5", so double check your dimensions there.

One thing to check - I put a CCDBA on my Tracer VP, and I had to use offset shock bushings to use the long travel mode, otherwise the air can would crash into the top tube. You may find a similar issue with the coil spring on your Carbine. Worth looking into.

That said, I love the CCDBA. Like Epic said, clearly better than the RP23 I had before it.

Since he said Climb Switch, I am assuming he meant the DBAir. My friends both ride smalls and the shock clears those so I think you are good to go. Not sure about clearance on the coil though.

I have the DB Coil and Db Air for my Carbine. The RP23 is junk! Both shocks fit with no clearance issues at all. I finally got the DBAir to feel as plush as the coil once I set sag to 32%. The correct size is 7.87 x 2.25. My frame size is Medium and there is a pic of my bike in the Carbine photo thread.

    Cool-blue Rhythm

Ohps, 3.5" are not my dimension converted, I've simply copied from Cane Creek Double Barrel and DBAIR Suspension Shock Fit Finder

Are you running the XV can or standard on the DB Air? If the standard can you get full travel out of the shock? Just curious what to expect since I have a DB Air with a standard can but haven't ridden it yet.

    Thanks!

I am running the standard can with no spacers. I get full travel no problem. I used the Tracer 2 settings from Cane Creek and have tuned from there. I need to record what my current settings are so I can post. The bike felt good with 28-30% sag, very snappy, but I prefer a coil like feeling which is why I went with 32% sag.

Thanks asphaltsucks! I appreciate the feedback and that's what I was hoping to hear. I prefer the coil like feel as well and usually shoot for close to 30-33% sag on my Intense bikes.
