Which bottom bracket for Carbine SL?

I am not very clear on all of the different sizes these days.

I know the carbine has a BB92 size, but not sure what bottom bracket I need to fit my 24mm spindle XTR m980 crankset.

But the frame is a 73mm width, so...what are my options for a BB that will fit my XTR crankset?

I was looking at the Chris King PressFit 30, but I think I will also need their #2 conversion kit for my cranks. Chris King also makes a PressFit 24 - does this mean it will work without an adapter?

Another one I am looking at is the Shimano BB92 PressFit bottom bracket. Will this work with my cranks out of the box?

    Any help would be appreciated!

Real World Cycling has BBs for just about every application. I think this is what your looking for.

Thanks. The information says that they are for 92mm wide shells, though, and I believe the Carbine SL is a 73mm wide shell. Do I just press it in and not use the internal plastic sleeve? Will the resulting width be compatible with my XTR crankset or will I need some additional adapter?

Which bottom bracket for Carbine SL?

BB92 means 92mm wide. I believe once the bearing cups are pressed in, it's 73mm between bearings.

OK thanks. Are you running Shimano cranks with that BB by chance?

No, I will be running a TruVativ. I ordered the GXP version of the BB.

Just an update for anyone looking at this.

I got my Carbine SL frame today and the width of the shell is 92mm, not 73mm as the specs on the Interwebs would have you believe.

Also, mine for some reason has ISCG tabs on it, but I've never seen one with them before. Maybe mine is a later production?

If that's the case, maybe the original model had a 73mm shell?

Anyways, I ordered a Shimano BB92 PF bb and will update this thread if it installs ok once it arrives.

Edit: FWIW, 5.18lbs bare frame weight (Medium) with OEM seat QR.

The Carbine frames have always been 92mm. A 73mm shell with outboard bearings ends up being 92mm wide, so as long as you get a BB for the correct crank spindle you're good. 24mm for Shimano & some stepped thing for Sram.

Intense added ISCG, Sram front derailleur compatibility and stealth dropper routing a couple months ago to all their carbon frames.
