Best shock for first gen' Tracer - high vol?

My float rl has died on me. I'm thinking of a FOX RP23 air 6.5" for my 2003 horst link Tracer.

Would the Tracer work well with a High Vol shock? Anyone tried it? I'm not a heavy rider, average 160 pounds.

At160, you could probably get away with a high volume can. Bigger riders will appreciate the spring rate ramping up more with a small can, but the suspension may feel a bit plusher with a big can for you. How did your Float feel? If you were blowing thru travel on it, I'd stay with a small can. If it got harsh towards the end of the stroke, a bigger cannister could solve that.

The RP23 is a good shock for that bike, too. I felt like my old Tracer had a tendency to squat on really steep climbs. I later put a Manitou Swinger on it and it helped the bike ride higher in its travel when my weight was really far back on it. An RP23 will help in a similar way.
