Alloy or carbon 29er spider and tracer reliability?

I am interested in buying a used tracer or spider 29er. I have a few friends who had issues with cracking on there intense dh bikes. How are the newer intense 29er bikes interms of frame reliability? Any of these bikes know to have cracking issues?

I have owned both, the Tracer29 and the Spider Comp29. The Spider Comp is a better piece of equipment in every sense. It's lighter, more latteraly rigid, slacker, shorter, and more durable.
