5.5 EVP Tyre Clearance

Hi guys

Getting the last few bits together for my build and now need to sort some rubber. Do I need to be aware of any tyre clearance issues on the 5.5 EVP or can I pretty much fit any size tyre.

Was thinking of some Bontrager XR4 but apparently they come up huge!!

Depends on if you have an older style swingarm or the latest version. Later versions have more tire clearance and fit a 2.35 Nevegal mounted on a Mavic 819 with some room to spare.

Not sure of the catual age of the frame but it's going to be the older type swing arm, is this likely to restrict me to something like a 2.2

You can tell by the serial # on the under part of the BB. I think you will be ok if it's '06 or later. The decals are also a big giveaway. Unless they have been changed or stripped.

I built up a 2004 5.5 last weekend. My 2.35 Nevegal works fine with the older rear triangle.
