    Wydaho information

It looks like I will get to go this year and I have a few questions for anyone who attended.
I hope to camp at the resort during the weekend; are the sites just set up anywhere on a grassy area, or do they have defined"sites" for folks? Do you park close to your campsite, or do you have a fair amount of walking to get stuff to/from your rig?
Drinking water easy to get to?

    Thank you!

Pretty sure you just drive next to your site. Drinking water, showers, etc, will be very close to camping.

Getting some good rain this week, trails should be in great shape.

I am signing up for group rides and would like to know which of the following would be more fun : )

    9am Phillips Ridge Ride
    9am Driggs Mayor Ride
    9am Pole Canyon Trail

If I have the energy, I plan to do the evening ride as well that day.

    Thanks!

    That hurts.

Phillips is a good ride though.

The mayor ride is great because of the host, of course! ;-)

1991 Jeep Comanche pickup purchased 10 years ago - will not make it to Grand Targhee for the Wydaho Bike Festival. The main thrust bearing on the drive shaft is out. The motor needs to be rebuilt.

Any recommendations for this to be done locally? Inline 4.0 liter 6 cylinder.

Is the best way to ride Phillips Ridge as a loop without a shuttle to park at the trailhead just outside Wilson and ride up the Old Pass Road to access the Phiillips singletrack? I guess you could just start and finish at the Stagecoach, too?

This is what last year's Phillips Ridge group ride did.

I was there with a buddy. Everything was first rate, for sure! Folks were friendly, trails were awesome, camping and showers nice and convenient. The bike demo guys were great and it was super nice after getting a demo to just wheel it over to the lift or start up a trail. I thought Grand Targhee was a great venue. Already have it mentally planned for next year. My only complaint really is that they didn't put a winning raffle ticket in my schwag bag.

I don't know if having it over a holiday weekend helps or hurts attendance. I know a few of us have a little harder time cutting out on what is normally a "family" holiday. On the flip side, there were plenty of couples and kids there, so maybe it works out. I'm lucky that while my wife and kids have no interest in coming they're fine with me making the trip. Not everyone is so fortunate though.

I have a constructive criticism hopefully no one will take offense to. Targhee has done an amazing job with the trails, but just having one trail from the lifts for that mile or so until it connects with Buffalo drop, Sticks and stones and sidewinder caused it to be pretty badly blown out by the end of the weekend. Another trail or two to take some of the load off that one (grand traverse?) would be nice.

    Looking forward to next year......

Thanks, glad you had fun! I will forward this thread to the appropriate eyeballs. I am sure it's in the master plan, but they have been BUSY, if you couldn't tell!
