Is it necessary to ride early before it thaws?

I'm envious of that first pic. I've ridden out there several times and have always had to either turn around or walk the bike down at that point.

Anyone know the current conditions at Wilson Creek...are they similar to the conditions we are experiencing on the Boise area trails?

If you're not sure if they've had moisture in the past week that could thaw up, you can play history off the Dan's Ferry webcam below:

can't believe no one rode today! We saw one guy riding alone. no other cars in parking. great riding (little snow, no mud) and great weather.

What trails, I heard it was fairly greasy in Marsing horseback riding today so I kinda thought Wilson would be similar.

Fred, we rode NW passage to Bingo, and China Wall. Small patches of packed snow, but mostly dry dirt.

Anyone know if it's dry up at wilson yet? The foothills are still well in the freeze/thaw stage. Thank you!

Any reports on trail conditions at above freezing temps at Wilson Creek? Bikers? Runners? Bueller?

Cold, but ground was solid. NW passage to Bingo, to China didn't see anyone else out there. Seemed that if it warmed up it could get slimy. It was a good day. 12 of us rode. 28 deg.
