Well the 2007 STP (seattle to portland) ride is over. All in all it was an incredible experience, but I'm not sure about doing it ever again. About 1500-200 of us took off at 4:45 am. Started at U of W, rode through alot of neighborhoods then to lake Washington and all points south.
My plan was to just spin easy and keep a heartrate under 140. As it turned out it was rarely below 140. We got into some good pacelines and maintained 23-24 mph for more miles than I expected.
We did the first century in 4:45 My fastest century ever.
Some ending stats
204.28 miles at least according to my computer
20.3 mph average
10:06 total ride time
11 hours total time
and the stat that still blows me away..... out of the 1500 or so we finished 17 18 19 20 (i was last).
Now for some mountain biking...as soon as I can sit on the saddle
